The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and everything was well cared for. We felt like part of a family during our stay at South House in Weligama. From the moment we arrived, Malka welcomed us with such warm, motherly energy that we felt at home right away. Malka and the whole team were sincere, kind, and always smiling. Their hospitality made the experience special. Thanks to Malka and everyone for a beautiful stay. We’d love to come back!
A long post for our last night at beautiful South House Weligama 🚨 This place has stolen our hearts, especially the people. Anke, our host, makes sure everything is just right. She’s caring and kind, and has had an amazing life. Sit down for a chat with her, you won’t regret hearing about a challenging life well lived. Malka and Serika are our angels in the kitchen and in life. You couldn’t ask for more care, love, or wonderful food. The ladies made us an incredible dinner for our last night: perfect chicken curry, dahl, curried beetroot, pumpkin curry, paratha, pappadams, rice, and more. It was the best curry we’ve had in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. Malka remembered me saying last week how beautiful the curry pots were, and gifted me some like the ones in the photo. I’m humbled by her generosity ♥️🙏🏻🌺. This is a 5 star homestay at a great price. I’ll miss everyone here, but I’ll definitely keep in touch 😢🙏🏻
A gorgeous garden, a pool, lovely Sadie, and really comfortable beds made this small boutique hotel feel so peaceful and cozy. The staff were the kindest, friendliest people and made our stay unforgettable. Thank you so much :)
We spent 7 nights at Sth House in March '25 and were sorry to leave. It’s a peaceful oasis in a lovely neighbourhood, with Weligama town just a short tuk-tuk ride away. The pool was fabulous, and we swam in it a few times in one day. For the ocean, there’s a quiet little bay beach an easy 10-minute walk from the house. Anke, Sureka, and Malka welcomed us warmly. Malka and Sureka made us plentiful, varied, and awesome breakfasts. We’ll be back. Thanks, Anke and the girls. Do yourself a favour and stay at Sth House. Warm regards, Sharon & John (Australia)
