Saragama Holiday Resort

I chose this guest house to spend as much time as possible doing sunrise bird photography at Saragama Wewa, just across the road with a view of the lake. The room-only rate was SLR 2000 for 24 hours, and I booked directly. It was affordable, and I was extremely satisfied with the stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, with good AC, a decent-sized bed, a clean washroom and adequate shower pressure. There was also a dressing table, a small writing table with two chairs, and a towel rack. The facilities are basic but decent. There isn't a restaurant yet, though there's a small one about 10 yards down the road. That's a little inconvenient, but it also means no noise from drunks or functions. Traffic from the main Kurunegala to Puttalam road can be heard outside the room. If you have a vehicle, meals are easy to find since Kurunegala has plenty of restaurants.

The bathrooms were dirty and smelled bad, and it felt like they were always watching the room.

The bathroom smelled bad and was dirty, and the bed sheets were dirty too. I wouldn't recommend it.
