Sea sound cabana & Restaurant

I came from Midigama hoping to find somewhere quieter and more relaxing, and Sea Sound Cabana felt like a little oasis surrounded by nature. The village has a lovely peaceful feel too. Everything from the price and service to the staff, management, cleanliness, room, location, and atmosphere was great. The only snag was that it was fully booked when I wanted to extend my stay, so book ahead, especially in high season. I was there in February. My room had a huge, very comfortable bed with a good mosquito net, plus a spacious modern bathroom and proper hot water, which can be hard to find around here. Wi-Fi worked better than at most places nearby, which mattered for my online meetings. They were always willing to help. One evening they even took me to see turtles at night for free, which I really appreciated. They seemed honest and welcoming. I’d definitely return if I’m back in the area.

Sea Sound serves good meals, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, plus a very good new coffee shop just across the road. The family were incredibly helpful and made sure I paid the “right” price for tuk-tuks and activities. The place is in a beautiful green area with lots of birds, and it’s lovely for kayaking by the lagoon. A stunning beach is a five-minute walk away, with a place to swim nearby. Tangalle is still close by for a quick tuktuk ride, but this spot feels removed from its noise and bustle. I appreciated everything about the family and the place.

This place felt like paradise, with a short walk to the most beautiful beach. Sadly, swimming wasn’t possible, which was a letdown in such lovely weather. The cabana was absolutely stunning, and the hand-carved bed was a dream, even if you had to climb up into it. It’s a lovely family-run business: Samir was front of house, Malik searched for turtles for us, and Ashen had his tuk tuk ready. Mamma cooked, while grandad watched the kids and would pop off to grab you a chzng if you fancied one.

Lovely cabanas tucked into a lush green setting, with very helpful, friendly operators. You can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the food is good. It’s just a short walk, about 1-2 minutes, to the beach. At night, you can see turtles laying their eggs.
