We were happy with the English breakfast and the hospitality. The hotel is on the inland side of Mirissa Beach, but still has a nice beach view. It's close to restaurants, pubs, ATMs, and the surfing area, and they can arrange a whale watching tour too. I'd recommend it, and give it four stars. Thanks for the hospitality.

The manager is a hilarious, brilliant host, and the staff seem to be local friends who are loyal and will do anything for guests. They even sent a porter on a 40-minute tuk tuk ride to find me a camera battery, with no extra charge. Birthday cake or special breakfast pancakes? They sorted those too, with a smile. The breakfast was huge and the views were brilliant. The hotel seems to have once been a glorious five-star place, but it's seen better days. It needs a proper makeover and new bathrooms, and perfection isn't what you'll get. The air con is ancient but works fine. For the great value and ideal access to the beach and restaurants, I'd go back without a doubt.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, and they do a good job cleaning the rooms. These are probably the best budget A/C rooms in Mirissa, though you'll have to accept a couple of first-world sacrifices. It feels like a former luxury hotel after a management change: only a couple of people seem to be running it at a time, and the facilities need updating. Make sure to tip the staff.

We enjoyed our stay overall, and the staff were very friendly. The place needs refurbishment in its current worn-out state. There should be bins in each room as well as in the washrooms. The A/C in two rooms had problems, but it was fixed in the third, which is essential in this heat wave.

The rooms were clean and had a nice balcony, and the food was great. The service was good too. Best hotel in Mirissa, right in front of the beach.
