Sethun House

The family who run Sethun House are a delight, genuinely welcoming and hospitable. Our four-night stay was great, and we hope to come back soon. We had room 4, a triple with a private balcony. The bed and excellent pillow were really comfortable, which is rare at this price. It was spotless, with a hot shower. Breakfast was delicious, generous, and different most days, so we got to try all sorts of Sri Lankan breakfast food. The setting feels peaceful despite being so central, with lots of lush greenery and possible wildlife sightings from the breakfast balcony, including fireflies at night. It’s five minutes on foot to both the main beach and the main road with its shops and restaurants.

A clean room, a friendly host who helped with all my questions, and I slept like a princess under the pink mosquito net. Breakfast was tasty and filling, with lots of fruit. The price was great value for a budget stay. It’s close to everything while still being super calm.

We were welcomed like family by a lovely family. The breakfast was traditional, varied, and very tasty. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked. It’s a great location, close to the beach and only a few minutes’ walk from the main street.

Breakfast was delicious, served on the balcony overlooking green trees. The family were warm and welcoming and helped us with everything. We loved our three-night stay. Our family room was comfortable, roomy, and spotlessly clean, with good aircon, mosquito nets, a fan, and a fridge that worked well. The facilities were all great. It’s close to the local Dagoba and a five-minute walk from the beach. We’d highly recommend Sethun House!
