River View Wathsala Inn

We came with 30 colleagues for a Sri Pada pilgrimage, and the manager, Dushyanth, impressed me from our first contact with his kindness and professionalism. Even though we arrived late, around 12:30 AM, the team stayed up to welcome us with fresh coffee and sandwiches. That was incredibly thoughtful after a long journey, before we set out on the 12-hour trail. The family rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the food was exceptional. I personally thanked the whole team, including the chef, for their attitude and dedication. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. I’ve never experienced such warm, flexible, genuine hospitality, even at a 5-star hotel in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!

The price was very reasonable, the rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. I had a great stay and would highly recommend it.

With the river flowing gently on one side and Adam’s Peak rising over the misty hills on the other, the setting at River View Wathsala Inn is stunning. Sunrise over the mountain is especially breathtaking. The river and mountain views together make the place feel magical, and the warm staff and kind hospitality from Mr. Mano made our stay a memorable experience.

The dining area has a lovely view of Adam's peak, and the hotel is conveniently placed on the route to the hike. The room itself, though, was in rather 'deplorable' shape. It was spacious, but there wasn’t much else to mention. The door has to be locked and unlocked manually, and there’s no aircon or fan. The cabinet and dressing table were in such bad condition I don’t think anyone would dare use them. The toilet is very basic, and there isn’t even a hair dryer. There was no trash bin in the room. I asked for one, but it still wasn’t brought, even by checkout.
