This is still our favorite place around Adam’s Peak. We’d stayed several times before having children, and came back recently with our three young kids for several nights. The rooms are roomy, comfortable, and pristinely clean, so they worked well for our family. The mountain views are stunning, and it’s a peaceful base whether you’re hiking or just exploring and relaxing. The food was a highlight, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. They also make some of the best coffee and tea in the area. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and the owners clearly care about their guests. It’s a locally run family hotel with a real home away from home feel. Several newer places have opened nearby, but we still haven’t found one that comes close to the warmth, quality, and experience here. Slightly Chilled Hotel has never disappointed us over all these returns. We wholeheartedly recommend supporting this outstanding local family business.

The location made the climb easy, just a five-minute walk to the start, and the view straight onto Adam’s Peak was breathtaking. We stayed 17 -19 December 2025 at Slightly Chilled Hotel and Restaurant, Main Street, Adams Peak. The rooms were comfortable, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean. Manager Gayantha and Praby were especially kind and professional, and went out of their way to make the stay comfortable and memorable. The rest of the staff were warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. The restaurant and service were also a high standard, with a relaxed atmosphere throughout. I’d happily stay again and highly recommend Slightly Chilled Hotel and Restaurant to anyone visiting Adam’s Peak.

We spent two nights here before heading up Adams peak for sunrise. The guest house was welcoming, with good advice, great hospitality, and really good food. The chef was great about catering to our vegan needs. Lovely people, and a great spot with nice views.

We came back for a second stay, and it’s a great base for climbing the peak. The rooms were clean, with comfortable beds, a balcony, and a nice view of the peak. Dinner was a buffet with plenty of choice, though the Sri Lankan curries were the best, especially the egg plant. It’s family-run, with lovely owners and helpful staff. Highly recommend!

The staff were lovely and gave us useful advice about when to begin the climb. We stayed one night before heading up Adam’s peak, and the food was amazing. A great stay!
