The hosts were so kind, and breakfast was good. My bed was comfortable, the Wi-Fi and AC worked well, and the place was very clean and quiet. It’s close to the Negombo bus and train station and the airport, so it worked well as a base before or after exploring Sri Lanka. They stored my bag for the month I was travelling, and the hostess even fixed a couple of holes in my jeans. I’ll definitely return when I’m back in Sri Lanka.

The floods left us with nowhere else to go while the cyclone was happening, and they took us in. Even with water getting into their living room, they treated us with incredible hospitality. They really saved us.

We were in a clean triple room on the first floor. The hosts were helpful, gave us bottled water, and made a very good local breakfast. Still, several room details were missing. There was no wardrobe or even hangers, and we couldn’t find the hot tub, bathrobe, slippers, or safety deposit box listed among the facilities. We also had cold showers because hot water hadn’t been connected to the upper rooms yet, which we were told were new. The room was like an oven when we arrived. The AC struggled to cool it during the day, and there wasn’t a fan to help.

The location was really convenient, and our room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was excellent and generous. We spent four days with this lovely couple, who did everything they could to make sure we had what we needed and were happy to accommodate special requests. We got along so well with them. They’re genuinely kind people, and meeting them was one of the things that made our trip great. I recommend staying here.

Araliya White House is a handy spot for arriving in or leaving Sri Lanka, about 20 minutes from the airport by tuk-tuk, which cost 1,000 LKR. The owners were super friendly, breakfast was amazing, and the rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, and fully air-conditioned.
