Merryland Beach Villa

These are modern apartments right on the beach, with a kitchen equipped with a microwave, toaster, stove, mixer, and utensils. There’s also a washing machine, which makes the place suitable for short visits, longer stays, or a staycation. Negombo has peaceful surroundings and natural beauty.

The sea view from the balcony, especially at sunset, was one of the best parts. The beach is within walking distance, wide, clean, and relaxing, and the property also has a pool and gym. We spent two nights at The Beach Apartments, Negombo, booking through Booking.com. The booking was hassle-free, payment took under five minutes when we arrived, and the security staff kindly carried our luggage up. The apartment was clean, spacious, and well kept, with a kitchen, living area, bedroom, and bathroom. The kitchen had an electric cooker, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, pans, cutlery, and a washing machine. There was a comfortable sofa, dining table, and TV with a variety of channels in the living room. The bathroom was clean, had basic toiletries, and good pressure for both hot and cold water. Internet was fast and stable throughout our stay. Meals aren’t provided, so you can cook, eat at nearby restaurants, or order with Uber Eats or PickMe Food. The bed felt a little too soft and saggy for us, and sometimes we could hear furniture being moved in the apartment above. Outside noise was blocked very well, though, so it was generally peaceful and quiet. We had a very pleasant, comfortable stay, and would recommend it for a relaxing beachside visit in Negombo.

During my three-week trip in SR, I spent a lovely week here. The room was an excellent size, and the large balcony had sea views. The swimming pool was cool, too. I’d happily recommend the place and visit again on my next trip to SR.

It’s conveniently close to the airport, and the pool is nice for catching the last rays of sun. The sunbeds are strangely uncomfortable, though, and force you into a V shape instead of letting you lie flat.
