I spent five nights at Oasis Beach Resort at the beginning and end of a three week motorcycle trip around Sri Lanka. It’s right on the beach, the pool was kept clean, the staff were very nice, and there are some really good restaurants right outside. The beer is always cold. Breakfast, though, is nothing special. My second floor “deluxe” room was large and had what I needed, including cold AC and hot showers, for a budget price. There’s plenty of outdoor seating in the spacious common areas. It’s not a five star hotel, and small improvements could be made, as with any lodging. But for good comfort and a great beachside location without the fancy extras of a pricey place, it’s a solid choice.

The room was filthy, with thick dust on the furniture, stained carpets, and a bathroom that didn’t seem properly sanitized. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was genuinely disappointing. The location is the one good thing about this hotel. Stay away if hygiene matters to you.

Breakfast was very limited: one egg, which was delicious, one tea or coffee, and a piece of toast with butter and jam. When we asked for more eggs, the staff complained. The place was extremely dirty, with mouse droppings and dirty towels. It was old and in poor condition, and the bed was uncomfortable. We managed one night before moving to a top notch villa in town for the same price.

The staff were friendly, but the rest was a mess. The food was awful, just MSG cubes mixed with rice and some vegetables, and we were really disappointed. The shower and pool were so unclean I could’ve thrown up. We paid for two hours at the pool but only lasted about 30 minutes because the water wasn’t being filtered and it was that dirty. The bathrooms were somewhat clean. This ruined our day. Please clean the place. I don’t recommend it at all.

We stayed here in 2023 and came back this year because we’d been satisfied before. We regretted returning. The hotel’s standard has deteriorated significantly, which is a shame given its nice location and the hotel itself. The employees work hard and do their best for guests, but the owner mismanages the place. The owner was really drunk.
