The owner was very helpful, and the food is sensational, freshly cooked on site. There's also beer available, plus a nice garden and pool to relax in. The location is convenient for the airport.

We spent three nights here before leaving Sri Lanka, and it was our favourite hotel in the country. The popular tourist area is a 15 minute tuk tuk ride away, which worked perfectly for us. We'd head out each day, then return to relax. There's a pool, hot tub, pool table, lots of games, a bar and restaurant, and even a piano for anyone who plays. Our room had everything we needed and more, including Netflix on the TV. The food was very good, with plenty to choose from, and the drinks were also well priced with a good selection. The owners and staff were friendly and happy to help, and there are a couple of very cute dogs who live there. It was a perfect way to end our trip, and we'd love to come back.

The room was nice and clean, though some of the facilities were a bit aged. The bedsheet wasn't brand new, but it was clean and smooth. Internet was stable, with 10M download and 6M upload, though not especially fast. I arrived in Colombo late at night, and the friendly owner waited until midnight. With advance notice, I was still able to check in at 1am. He was also very helpful with travel advice and comments on my itinerary.

Because Palms Villa is tucked into a residential neighborhood, it's peaceful and great for relaxing. Sit by the lovely saline pool with a cool drink and you can feel like a millionaire. I was glad I booked three nights before my flight out of the country. Lots of guests only stop briefly before or after a late-night flight and miss out. Stay through a full day and you'll mostly have the place to yourself. I didn't even go out for meals. Gerry, who's a great chef, and his assistant prepared delicious food at reasonable prices.

This villa is a comfortable place to stay, with a pool, in a nice residential area about 15 minutes' drive from the airport. If you enjoy homestays and aren't fussy, you'll probably love it. You do need to be pet-friendly, since the lovely dog Janet is good company by the pool. June, the caretaker, is warm and very efficient, and the food is delicious. We loved our two-day stay.
