The location is the best thing about this hotel. The rooms are okay, but a bit old and damaged. I’d never come across a one-room-key policy while traveling, and it doesn’t make sense to me.

That low shower pressure was the one thing that could use improvement. Otherwise, the stay was comfortable, with spacious, well-equipped rooms, a big swimming pool, and helpful, courteous staff. The food was delicious, and the balcony’s sea view was a real highlight. You can walk to good restaurants and pubs nearby too. A relaxing, convenient place by the sea that I’d recommend.

I’d read some negative reviews, but the place surprised me in a good way. It was clean and comfortable, with a nice pool and cheerful staff. The balcony also looked out over Negombo beach, with a good sunset view.

The power went out at 4:30 AM and stayed off until 7:15 AM. I was meant to meet my tour guide downstairs at 8:30, but the elevators weren’t working, so I tried the stairs, which were littered with trash. At the bottom, I found a closed gate. The electricity only came back once I started shouting for help. This place could be dangerous in an emergency like a fire. Don’t stay here if you value your life.
