Hotel 198 Negombo

There are lots of bars and restaurants a short walk away, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very welcoming, and breakfast was decent. The room's polished concrete floor is slippery, as my wife demonstrated on the first night with a windmilling, breakdance-style move. Oh, how we laughed. The Wi-Fi was very poor, so we had to use our own data, and the road in front of the hotel is noisy.

The rooms are clean and newly renovated, with good customer service. They take card payments, and there's a 'Machan' restuarent next door, so you can order food from there.

Really worth it. The staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful I've ever come across. Keep it up, team. Thank you 🙏

The service was impressive and the place was clean, but the food wasn't made carefully. We found a few eggshells in our breakfast omelette. At dinner, the kitchen left the meat out of our mixed fried rice, then fixed it after we told the waiter at the restaurent.
