Vista Star Beach Hotel

We got to Star Beach Hotel around 7am on 21.09.25, in the off season, and our sea-view room wasn't ready, so we waited a couple of hours. They offered us another room to rest in until about 11am, but we chose to walk on the beach and have the yummy breakfast first. The staff kept our suitcases for us while we waited. The beach is right outside, though it was sadly covered in plastic trash. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were great and the small pool was lovely. We paid around 18 EUR for the night with breakfast. If you need transport, head to the beach, turn left and walk 10m. Shout-out to Dominde (Dom), who took us to Sigiriya and Kandy for four days in his Tuk-Tuk. We had a really nice one-night stay and I can totally recommend this hotel.

The staff were helpful and accommodating, and breakfast was tasty with good prices compared to similar nearby restaurants. We stayed a couple of days to recover from jet lag and loved it. Our room was clean and lovely, with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Couldn't have asked for more.

As a middle-aged solo Aussie traveler, I felt safe here and really enjoyed my stay. The oceanfront view from the room, grounds, and pool was lovely, and I listened to the waves all night. It's close to the airport, the air conditioning worked great, and leaving the balcony door open let in a nice sea breeze. The staff were helpful and friendly, so I'd definitely recommend it. The building is older, though. The fridge didn't work, which I didn't need, and there was no room safe. I also saw a few mosquitoes in the room and bathroom. I wasn't bitten, but it was annoying to see them.

I stayed two days at this nice place near the airport. It's right on the beach, the staff are friendly, and the rooms and food are standard. Good price, too.
