Justin made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. He was happy to help with anything, and his English, cooking, and stories were great. He’s a real asset to the business. The room was comfortable and clean, with a small fridge. It’s around a 10-minute walk to the beach, which gets very popular with Sri Lankans on weekends. There are lots of small home restaurants nearby, plus a little shop across the road run by a lovely family.

We stretched our budget a little to stay here, and the off-season price was well worth it. We’ve mostly stayed in low-budget places, so we might be a bit biased about how good this one seemed. The rooms are grouped around a lovely garden, and the place has a welcoming feel. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and able to provide services or call local people who can. If you arrive without booking anything, I’m confident they’ll sort you out. One small tip: don’t stay out drinking too late, or you might end up climbing over the entry gate.

The clean, peaceful apartments and pretty garden really stand out on the street. We stayed for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Jey's Place is fantastic, with the owner Jey, chef Justin, and Prasanth making sure you have a great stay. It’s always fully booked, and with good reason. If you’re heading to Nilaveli, this is the place to stay.

The staff were so warm and welcoming, and the grounds feel like a little green oasis as soon as you step outside. We spent three nights at Jey’s Place and loved it. Our room and bathroom were spacious and spotless, with both a fan and air conditioning to keep it just right for sleeping. It was our favorite stay in Sri Lanka, and I’d happily recommend it.
