Mornings and evenings were especially nice, with natural sounds all around and a very calm atmosphere. Moon Plains Forest Lodge sits right by the forest, and there’s plenty of space to unwind among the trees. Our host was kind, friendly, and always willing to help us feel comfortable. We had a great experience, better than we expected, and would happily return. A good quiet retreat for anyone who enjoys nature and wants a break from city life.

The owner was such a kind, welcoming woman, and she made us feel looked after. The cabana was clean and peaceful, just right for a relaxing getaway. I’d recommend staying here.

We found the homemade Sri Lankan food from a local provider delicious, and the servings were generous. Although Moon Plains Forest Log doesn’t serve food on site, you can order from a nearby restaurant too. The host welcomed us warmly and was attentive, and she offered fresh organic vegetables from her home garden at a fair price, a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel homely. Parking was a little tricky at first, but the host guided us and we managed. After 9 pm, quiet hours help keep things peaceful for the neighbours. With the wooden setting beside a flowing stream, the only sounds we noticed were the breeze and water. It’s a serene place for a nature focused break.
