The host was the best part for me. He carried our things upstairs and brought us tea and mango juice each day, on the house. The house was incredibly clean and had a romantic feel, and the room was large. The bathroom was spacious and in good condition, with hot shower water. The location worked great for getting around by moto or tuk tuk, and we managed to see lots of places in one day, including mountains and temples. The room did get very cold at night, so maybe the windows need replacing with stronger ones. Construction on new rooms upstairs made some noise until 7pm, which could be annoying, though it was fine for me since I was out during the day. WiFi didn't work upstairs, but that was okay for me because I'm not much of an internet person haha.

We showed up without booking, and the owner quoted us 5,500 LKR for a night. The room felt old and freezing, the sheets had stains, and the towels smelled moldy. It was also far from everything. Then there were the extra charges. The owner asked for 3,000 LKR for breakfast for three people, although Booking.com had shown breakfast included. When we went back to check the listing, it had been taken down, so we couldn't prove what it said. The owner was unfriendly, and the whole thing felt dishonest. I wouldn't recommend it.
