The Ramp Hotel

The staff at this nice hotel are so friendly and loyal. I left my things behind and asked about them a week later. They found them and sent them by courier. They’re really helpful. The hotel is nice to stay at, and breakfast comes with great views too.

The staff at Ramp hotel went out of their way to make guests feel special, and the breakfasts were very good, with plenty of food beautifully served each morning. Our room was lovely, with beautiful views over the town and hills. The hotel is well located, and it’s an easy walk into town. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

The open dining area had a distinctive design, and breakfast there was delicious and filling. The hotel’s unusual look made sense once we saw it in the morning, and it really lived up to the name The Ramp. Our rooms and bathrooms were spacious, the beds and linens were satisfactory, and basic toiletries were provided. We stayed November 24-25, 2024, during our Sri Lanka tour organized by Kingfisher Sri Lanka Tours. We arrived after dark in heavy rain. The staff were friendly and cooperative, though dinner choices were limited. Going elsewhere wasn’t an option in that weather, but the manager helped us arrange pizza delivery. We also asked for soft drinks to be brought to our room. The charges were steep, though we appreciated that they accommodated us. It was a short but enjoyable stay, and we left wishing we could have stayed longer.

In three weeks of traveling around Sri Lanka, this was the only truly bad hotel we stayed in. It wasn’t clean, and rain caused major problems: water ran down the bedroom walls beside fuse boxes. The manager tried to make it sound like a one-off, but it wasn’t. The walls were black with mould. We left a day early, though we had paid for the original two nights and two rooms. The manager then marked our booking as a no-show on booking.com, so we couldn’t leave a review there. Avoid this place.
