Our relaxing day at Villa 234, Boosa, Galle turned into a stressful mess, and I would never recommend it. We booked the whole villa, but people from outside kept coming through the gates without our permission and hanging out behind the house. The keepers were very rude, and the owner was unhelpful. A lot of what was promised turned out not to be there, including a barbecue machine and even a rice cooker, which you’d expect in a supposedly fully equipped villa. We had to buy our own barbecue setup. The pool was full of dirt and debris, with dead insects and even mosquito eggs floating in it. They said it was only cleaned in the morning, but it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. We had to clean it ourselves before using it, and recorded a video of its condition. They also said the pool would close at 10 p.m., even though we had booked the entire place and expected to use its facilities during our stay. The bathrooms were dirty and had cockroaches. Rotten watermelons and other fruit in the fridge smelled so bad the odor spread through the kitchen. The rooms were dusty and poorly maintained, the beds unstable and squeaky, and the sheets unclean. There was no water purification system. The villa is right beside the railway, so the rooms were very noisy. They said the beach was just 50 meters away, but it wasn’t safe to swim there, so we had to go to another beach. The place made what should have been a relaxing vacation frustrating from start to finish.

What should have been a relaxing getaway became a stressful nightmare. The villa didn’t match the pictures or promises, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, not even for free. The staff were rude from the moment we arrived and seemed focused on getting paid, without even a simple greeting. They kept coming into the villa at all hours, even unlocking the gate in the middle of the night, which felt unsafe and completely unprofessional. The place was filthy. The pool was full of dirt and leaves, the bathrooms had mold and cockroaches, and the fridge smelled of rotten food. The supposedly fully equipped villa had no rice cooker, no working WiFi, and no BBQ setup as advertised. Even the bedsheets looked unwashed. Staff were drinking inside the premises, and the manager dismissed our complaints.

The relaxed setup was a highlight for us. We could play music without restrictions and had full access to the pool throughout our stay, which added a lot to the fun. The service was prompt and friendly too. At Villa 234, the rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained, and the pricing was very good for the area. I had a great stay and would recommend it for a relaxed, hassle-free trip with friends or family.

The rooms were okay, but the stay at Villa 234 was far from enjoyable. Staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful, and we had to keep asking for things ourselves. There was no hot water, and the water pressure was too low for a proper shower. The pool wasn’t clean, and we weren’t allowed to go near the pool tables to have a drink. They didn’t even set up a proper table for us to sit at. We also couldn’t go out after 10:00 PM, and the doors were closed at that time, making us feel like prisoners. The restrictions ruined our plans to enjoy the night. With the poor service and facilities, it wasn’t worth the money. It might suit couples on a short stay if they don’t mind the restrictions, but not people looking to have a good time.

The rooms were noisy, with the hotel situated between a road and the railway. Inside, the bathroom was in really bad shape, the room wasn’t clean, and the sheets had dirt on them. The pool looked dirty too, and wasn’t inviting. This is an old hotel that needs major refurbishment and better maintenance. The staff weren’t kind.
