It’s an easy walk to both Pinwatta Railway Station and the beach, less than 3 minutes, and Colombo–Galle Road is about 4 minutes away. Our room was roomy and comfortable, with a fan as well as air conditioning. The reception host welcomed us with cool drinks and was incredibly kind. She even moved us to a room with a balcony and sea view, so special thanks to her. I’ll definitely return and recommend this place to anyone travelling to Katharagama or Weligama for a relaxing break at a reasonable price.

23 February 2025. Room n. 1, ground floor. HORRIBLE! The website pictures are very different from the room. It was small, dirty, and smelled bad. I didn't shower for several reasons, and the power went out from 9:30 am. The lady overcharged me about 3.000 RP. Avoid at all costs.

Sunset Beach Residence is a cosy place in the peaceful Pinwatta neighbourhood, about 100 m from the public beach. Wi-Fi is free in all public areas. Panadura City is 3 km away, and Bandaranaike International Airport is 60 km away. The rooms have wardrobes and private balconies with seating areas. Bathrooms are private and include hot/cold showers and free toiletries. Galle Road Express Bus Stop is a 5-minute walk away, while Pinwatta Railway Station takes 2 minutes on foot. The 24-hour front desk can help with free parking and laundry. Airport transfers are available for an extra charge, and 24-hour room service is offered.

A quiet, charming spot with traditional rice and curry for lunch and average prices. There’s enough room to park vehicles. Highly recommended.
