Awful restaurant experience. The cutlery was dirty and hadn't been washed properly, and the portions were very small. They give foreigners a different menu, with prices about 1-2.5 times the usual local price. Fried rice was almost 1600-1800 rubies. Staff also added around a 10% service fee even though no help was given.

The room and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was large and comfortable. The host and staff were friendly and helpful, especially one small guy on staff whose name I forgot. The hotel is right in front of the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, and you can park in front of it. Some people may come asking for a parking ticket fee, but ignore them, tell the hotel staff, and don't pay.

The Sri Lankan breakfast was tasty, authentic, and satisfying, and the price was very reasonable for what you get. Caffe Pinnalanda is right across from the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, with free parking just outside. Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The air-conditioned room was clean and had a large, comfy bed, hot water, a well-kept bathroom, and a TV. Peaceful and comfortable, with everything needed for a relaxing visit to Pinnawala. Highly recommend it.

The plates and cutlery weren't properly washed. The food was awful for the price, and the seafood fried rice had barely any seafood, just a few little prawns. Better to eat elsewhere.

The rooms are spacious, cosy, and clean, and the bathroom is big and clean too. There's vehicle parking, though no parapet wall around the property. My first stay felt like five stars because I managed to negotiate with the person in charge. On the second visit, the owner asked for a higher price for a couple of extra hours, which didn't seem reasonable.
