Elephant Reach Villa Pinnawala

The poor maintenance and high price made this place feel not worth it. There were lots of mosquitoes, the hot water wasn't working, and the AC wasn't working properly either.

The owner was really friendly and easy to talk with, and was willing to make arrangements. You can request extra beds, and there's parking for around 4-5 cars or vans. A small grocery shop nearby sells things like coffee packets and bread. The rooms are moderate in size, the beds were comfortable, and we had a refrigerator and microwave. For the price, it felt worth it, though this isn't a luxury place. It was clean and the room was nice, but the AC wasn't very strong, even though it was manageable. The washrooms weren't so good, some appliances were broken, and there was no hot water. The water pressure was low too, so taking a bath took a long time.

The place was clean and had AC and WIFI, but it fell well short of what the reviews had led us to expect. There was no decor, and the room wasn't fully sealed off from outside, so a few bugs got in at night. No hangers for clothes, either. There wasn't any coffee or tea in the room, and the owner charged us for what he brought. It wasn't bad, but there's room to improve. I'd rate it about a 6 for a two-star place, and certainly not above an 8. Trip Advisor needs a more accurate rating system.
