The room was roomy and the bathroom shower worked well. There was a mosquito net over the entire bed, and the fan worked, though it wasn't very effective. Its position made it hard to adjust the direction and speed by hand. The food ranged from okay to very good when I ordered what I actually wanted. Mornings were unfortunately very noisy because of the owner's son crying constantly. I can see why some reviews mention pushy, selfish, commercial behavior. I've run into that many times in India too. Getting extra directions or advice from the owner by phone was very difficult.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I want others to avoid having the same experience. If you're comfortable dealing with pushy people, this place may suit you. Otherwise, look elsewhere, even if it costs more. The family kept offering the same services, knocking on our door to ask if we wanted food or tea. They kept pressing us to say which guide we were using and tried to sell us their own tour. We ordered from their menu once, but the food was expensive and felt like ordinary home cooking, mostly rice with very little curry. There were green and blue patches of damp on the room walls, and they triggered my allergies. Sorry, I can't recommend it. Spend your money with people who deserve it. All the best.

We were four girls, and the stay was so peaceful and lovely. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helped us book a rainforest tour and arrange a taxi or tuktuk. Our room had four beds, was very clean, and came with a clean bathroom and everything we needed. The food was delicious, especially while we watched an incredible sunset from the terrace, which we had to ourselves. We had an amazing time!

The room was fine for the price, but I didn't find the family very accommodating. They pushed me to book a tour and wanted payment before I'd even taken it. Their tours are very expensive, so I'd just go to the gate and ask for a guide. Dinner was rice with only the tiniest bit of leek through it. For the full day hike, which cost me a lot, the packed breakfast and lunch were just milk rice and fried rice with no vegetables or anything else. The guest house didn't provide leech socks either. I didn't have a good experience here.

The surroundings are lovely, and the morning view is amazing. Mr Ananda and his lovely wife were very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the place gave us the freedom to relax without disturbance. They served traditional Sri Lankan food, and the arrangements for a tour to Sinharaja were reasonable. Highly recommended if you're visiting Sinharaja and want somewhere calm and beautiful to stay.
