Blue Ocean Hotel

We couldn’t sleep, and my family became so sick that we spent $300 US on treatment. We raised the problems with Mr Kumar and his father, the manager and helper, hoping they would fix them. Instead, Mr Kumar told us to find another room elsewhere and said, “you going to like what I give you or else.” The bathroom smelled like a toilet all day and night, and the drain had no p trap, so gas from the toilet pit came up. The place was dirty, with spot cleaning instead of proper cleaning after checkout. There was no hot water, the toilet wouldn’t flush, bugs were everywhere, and the sheets and pillows weren’t clean. Water pressure was also often too low. The list goes on. They charge locals $25, while some foreigners pay $75 and others $100 a night for the same stinking room. We felt guests were treated differently based on skin color and country. Service workers also refused to meet guest service requirements from the health department and tourist industry. They were very unkind, rude, and unprofessional. Please don’t stay here. We found a clean, good quality room with great service for the same price, just two minutes away from blue ocean.

My friends and I stayed for one night. The bathroom in my room had no shower tap, so I couldn’t shower, and it wasn’t cleaned well. If you’re thinking of staying here, check the room before you check in.

This place is underrated compared with the overpriced hotels on the same street. The rooms are really clean, and there’s direct access to the beach. Ask for a room facing the sea if you want to fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
