Seyara Holiday Resort

We came from Dubai and had a great stay. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful, and even though we arrived late at night, everything went smoothly. We’d definitely come again and recommend it.

We stayed for three days and really liked it. It’s peaceful, and people can just live in their own way. The service is very friendly, too. A very good place in Polonnaruwa.

There’s a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere here, and the friendly, attentive service made our stay comfortable. The rooms are a little old, but they were clean and well kept. A nice choice for a short, hassle-free stay.

I’m usually optimistic, and I’ve never left a one-star review before, but I felt I had to warn other tourists about what happened to us. At checkout, they charged us an extra fee for using the room’s air conditioner. It was very hot, no one had told us we weren’t allowed to use it, and we hadn’t been warned about the charge beforehand. Be prepared that you may be asked to pay extra fees that weren’t mentioned earlier. We also saw rats in the restaurant and lots of ants in the rooms. The “resort” looks good in photos, but in person it didn’t seem well maintained. I guess the fee issue mostly applies to European and US tourists, since people often assume we’re rich. Maybe they treat locals differently, so locals may not need to worry about it 🙂
