Ananya Beach Resort

We had a very pleasant stay at Ananya Beach Resort. The staff were friendly and accommodating, though the restaurant does close a little early, so keep that in mind when planning dinner. The resort sits right on the beach, with lovely ocean views and waves you can hear. It’s quiet and peaceful, a great spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. Highly recommended if you’re after a calm stay by the sea.

We loved our stay here. The food was the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka so far, and there were plenty of dishes from different cuisines. I’m a picky eater, and I found lots to enjoy. The hotel is very clean, with spacious rooms and a huge balcony looking out over the forest and beach. It’s set up well for a relaxing stay in the hotel, with lush greenery behind it and a lovely beach right out front. The area is quite secluded, which is why I’ve rated the location three stars, but the staff can arrange transport whenever you need it. Yala Safari and other places are reachable from here. For Yala and Udawalawe Safaris, Keshara Safari gave us the best price.

The staff were extremely kind and flexible, especially when we had requests about food for our four-year-old daughter. We spent four nights here and loved the quiet, empty beaches, lovely pool, and rooms finished to a great standard. The restaurant food was delicious too, especially the barracuda, a full serving is enough for two. We’ll definitely be back!

We wished we could have stayed longer. The views from our top-floor balcony and bathroom were a highlight, and the staff were amazing. Drinks and breakfast were decent too. The beach is remote and feels like paradise, with hardly anyone around, so you need to be happy staying somewhere isolated. We fell asleep to the waves lapping on the shore.
