The rooms were clean and well kept, and the stay was quiet. The price was very reasonable. Just be prepared to bring your own food, since meals aren’t provided and the nearest options are about 2-3 km away. The access road is narrow and has sharp bends. If you’re driving a large car or long van, go slowly and take care.

Room 1 upstairs was great, with a beautiful balcony view and some privacy. We moved there after a rough first night downstairs, where we could hear every little sound. The downstairs room was okay itself, but it has no noise insulation. Even though the place is remote, neighbours sang karaoke on their porch all night, and being by the driveway meant we heard tuktuks coming and going and all the activity inside the hotel. If you can afford it, I’d choose an upstairs room. The beds are quite short, too, and anyone over 170cm won’t fit. It’s a nice place if you’re short and can pay for an upstairs room 😅 Big thanks to Sampa for being flexible and helping us throughout the stay. If you’re coming to Ratnapura, he’s the only guy you need to call for anything, he’ll help no matter what! 🤙

Our host was fantastic and gave us lots of helpful advice. The place is amazing and not far from town. The room was very clean and comfortable, with air conditioning, a fan, hot water and a lovely balcony.
