Four Teess Rest Inn

The owner was a huge help when our car broke down near the hotel. He even went into town to look for parts and helped us find a mechanic to get it fixed. The hotel is close to Thoddaveli railway station, and it's a great place to stay in Mannar. Thanks again for the helping hand.

The rooms were nice, and everyone was friendly and ready to help. There was also a place to charge my car. It charged slowly, but that was still really useful on my trip since the car's range is only 480km.

The food was fantastic, fresh, balanced, and not too spicy. For bird watchers, Four Teess is a no fuss option with basic, clean facilities and plenty of space, much like Martin's Lodge. Mr Lawrence is usually around and happy to share local information about bird sightings and places to look. It suits people who care more about birding than luxury. Highly recommended for keen ornithologists.

For easy access, it's right beside Thoddaveli train station, and you can choose an A/C or non A/C room. A lot of birders stay here during the Mannar season, and Mr.Lawrence can suggest places to look for particular birds. The setting is calm and open, which is a plus. The rooms are decent but not the best, and the food is reasonably good, though expensive. Overall it's a decent Mannar stay, and the train makes getting there easy.
