Lakmini Lodge Sigiriya

The staff were extremely helpful and attentive, and the food we ordered was delicious. They even gave us a high-quality teapot at no charge, a lovely gesture of hospitality. I stayed here for two nights and found it very pleasant and good value for money. It's especially convenient for Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is easy to reach and even walkable if you prefer. I’d recommend this lodge to visitors.

The chef was great and made fresh, home-cooked food. My room was clean and spacious, and the restroom was neat and well maintained. Still, I wish the staff had shown a little more empathy and responded faster during the heavy rains affecting Sigiriya. There was no dental kit or card machine, though I’d been told about the latter beforehand. While rain was pouring and the main road was inaccessible, she had the audacity to tell me to get cash from an ATM there. My requests were met with eye-rolls and a bad attitude.

The location worked well for seeing Lion Rock and other central attractions, with some charming little cafés nearby. The hotel was very clean and well maintained, and the service was excellent. The on-site chef, Theekshana, was dedicated and attentive. The internet was the only small drawback, though it seems to be the same throughout the country. I’d highly recommend the hotel to travelers passing through and local guests alike.

From the beautiful greenery and cozy feel to the balcony view of Sigiriya, Lion Rock, I loved the ambience here. The service was amazing, and the staff were friendly. A wonderful place to stay, I’d recommend it to everyone.
