Nelu Villa Sigiriya

The room was simple but clean and spacious enough. The pool area could use a bit of freshening up, but it was perfectly fine for relaxing. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and we enjoyed the tasty breakfast. The hotel is set among beautiful rice fields, away from the main road, so it's quiet and peaceful. There are monkeys and lots of lovely birds nearby, and the surroundings are picturesque, with a great view of Lion’s Rock. Restaurants and shops are just about a five-minute walk away. Good value for money, and we'd happily recommend this stay.

The pool was fantastic for cooling off after a hot day, and the lassis, milk and fruit smoothies, were absolutely delicious. Bar service was excellent, too. We had a wonderful stay at Nelu Villa in Sigiriya. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and our room was cozy and came with a mosquito. We really enjoyed our time and would highly recommend it.

We absolutely loved the hospitality while staying here in Sigiriya. It's right in the town center, about a 5-8 minute walk to the main street and around 20 minutes on foot to Lion Rock. The host was incredibly kind from the moment we arrived. He welcomed us with drinks, and the staff immediately helped with our bags. He said we could settle in first and pay later if we were happy with the stay. Check-in felt so warm and genuine. We'd booked a triple room, but a small issue caused by nature, which wasn't anyone's fault, meant they quickly offered us two separate rooms instead. They apologized even though it wasn't really their responsibility, and sorted it out right away. Breakfast isn't included, but there's an open, balcony-style restaurant with a direct view of Lion Rock, stunning especially in the morning. The pool also faces the rock, and swimming with that view was a highlight. The pool has been newly renovated and is very clean. The place is still fairly new, and not yet a fully polished luxury hotel, but you can see it's becoming something great. The rooms are clean and modern, and the showers are excellent. What made the stay special was the people: the owner and staff are polite, helpful and down-to-earth. The owner even drove us into town one day. Check-in was smooth, and they were flexible about our checkout time. It may not be a five-star hotel, but the kindness, effort and amazing Lion Rock views made it a 10/10 for me. I'm sure it'll only get better with time. Thanks to the whole team for a lovely stay!

The view was amazing, and the room was clean. We even had a little fridge of our own, which you can't always count on. The staff were helpful and the owner was nice. Nothing to complain about.
