Palmyra Nature Resort Sigiriya

The grounds and main pool were really well kept, and the surrounding area is stunning. We stayed in a new first-floor room with a private pool, level with the tree canopy, which was a great treat. The staff were so kind and helpful, and Dilantha sorted all our trips when we arrived: the elephant safari, lions rock, and herbal massages. Breakfast was amazing too. Fantastic hotel close to town, five stars from us, and we’d definitely recommend it.

The setting and private pool chalet were lovely, and the bed was comfortable, but the service didn’t match the price. We stayed three nights. After a warm welcome at first, we got little help: messages went unanswered, we couldn’t book activities through the hotel, and nobody responded to our housekeeping request. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, the toilet leaked, the pool remote didn’t work, and there was no hot water, which other guests mentioned too. Breakfast was often cold and the bar was rarely staffed. It felt neglected and poorly managed. The place has potential, but we wouldn’t come back.

Fresh breakfast every morning, always a feast, and the mango and passion fruit juices were great. The staff were friendly and arranged excellent trips at competitive prices. It’s a family-run business, and my family and I had a wonderful time here. Thanks so much for having us! The setting is beautiful and the beds are comfy.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with good AC. The hosts were kind and attentive, arranging a jeep safari at Hurulu Eco Park and driving us to our next stop in Kandy, with the stops we wanted along the way, all at competitive prices. It’s tucked away from the main road but close to shops and restaurants. You can get a delicious breakfast for a good price, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available at the property.
