There were five of us, and we all had a fantastic time at this Sigiriya guesthouse. The host was so friendly and made us feel at home, and we could enjoy tasty local food right there. The bathroom could use a little renovation, but that was a small issue in an otherwise great stay. The hospitality and local feel still make it an easy five stars.

The booking listed breakfast, a terrace, a minibar, and other amenities, but we didn’t get any of them. The pictures on the booking site looked very good, yet the place was completely different in reality. Our room and the service were poor, and the owner charged us for everything: 300 Rs for a bottle of water, 3000 Rs for a dinner consisting of two eggs and vermicelli, and an extra 600 Rs because we arrived two hours late after waiting at Sigiriya Rock. We had a very bad experience and wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Numandi, the little guide, helped make our visit memorable, and the food choices were delicious. We also appreciated having a fridge in the room. We got such a warm welcome and had a delightful stay. Highly recommend for a lovely getaway!

We loved the homemade meals and the beautiful garden, where monkeys were in the trees around us. The place is near Sigiriya and a lake with lovely views and a chance to swim. The owner and his family were the main reason we’d rate the stay 10/10. He helped us with everything, arranging a taxi, a spice garden that wasn’t overpriced, and a safari at a great price. His daughter Numandi joined us for a swim, then came along on a trip to the temple in Dambulla, where we had a nice chat. Thanks for a wonderful experience :)
