The Lion Kingdom

I'm really disappointed and worried about this place. I brought my guests here about two days ago for two nights, after recommending it to them, and the experience was horrible. Their room was very dirty, management was poor, ants and other small creatures came from the toilet, and there was a bad smell in the room. Why treat people this way? The only good things we saw were a nice guy in the restaurant and the pleasant general surroundings. As a local, I'm asking you not to do this to people. If you can't manage the hotel, please close it. Thank you.

The manager's behavior left me with a very negative impression. When I raised our concerns, he was rude and dismissive. We asked for at least half our money back or some other compensation, but he refused. He also wouldn't call the owner when we asked. He said we could contact her ourselves and gave us a Chinese Mobitel number. 😂 The room felt dirty and neglected, with stained sheets, artificial flowers as decoration, and mold in the bathroom corners. Dust and dirt were visible in several areas. The pool was dirty too, and they only started cleaning it in front of us after we complained. The website photos were misleading. They showed a clean, modern space, but what we found was outdated and poorly maintained. We had planned to stay at Lion Kingdom Hotel, but it turned into a terrible, uncomfortable experience. I expected more consideration from the management, especially since I was clearly unhappy. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for families or women, because it's a bar.

This hotel doesn't feel family-friendly or professional, and I strongly advise against staying here.

The room was filthy, the sheets were stained, the bathroom leaked, and a horrible smell made it impossible to relax. The AC barely worked, and the furniture looked decades old. The pool was murky and dirty enough to make me wonder if it was safe. The advertised Wi-Fi didn't work at all, and the whole place seemed neglected. Even the restaurant was awful. The food was disgusting, overpriced and clearly not fresh, and the restaurant staff were rude and unprofessional. Staff in general were rude and unhelpful, ignored complaints, and acted like nothing was wrong. The slow, disorganized check-in was a nightmare, and from the start the staff seemed not to care about guests. This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The supposed amenities were a joke, and it's clear they have no interest in giving guests a decent experience. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Lion Kingdom Sigiriya Hotel. There are plenty of better choices nearby that actually care about their guests.
