Flower Garden Eco Village

The grounds look pretty and seem well cared for, and the staff are kind and try to help. Communication was hard, though, because they speak very little English. The rooms need a lot of attention. They were old, shabby, and dirty, with a musty smell. The soap dish was rusty, the showerhead and walls were filthy, the foot mat smelled, and the pillows were stained. Our bedroom door was broken, the sink only had cold water, the Wi-Fi didn't work, and neither did the air conditioning. Breakfast was terrible, too. Until they bring the rooms up to a decent standard, I really wouldn't recommend staying here.

There’s a nice pool, and the whole place is surrounded by greenery. Our room was spacious, as was the bathroom, and hot water was available around the clock. We did find a lizard in the room. Breakfast was limited for vegetarians: cut fruit, toast, butter, and jam, with no other choices. They did make us a fully vegetarian pasta for dinner when we asked.

Dinner was good, with the à la carte dishes they offer, and the property is a reasonable distance from Sigiriya fortress. The place itself was decent, but the bed sheets were very old. I complained about the geyser, yet it still wasn't working.

The grounds were lovely, with attractive plants and a pool, and for what we paid they were better than I expected. We had a good stay, thanks in part to the friendly staff who were happy to help. There were some basic issues in the room: no towels when we arrived, no hand soap in the dispenser, and neither the TV nor the Wi-Fi worked.
