Aathma Colombo House

The people here made us feel at home from beginning to end. Everyone was warm and attentive, and you can feel the family’s artistic spirit throughout the place. Aathma feels less like a hotel and more like an artist’s home, with antique furniture, books in the corners, incense, colorful mosaics, koi ponds, curious cats, and a lush garden looking out over the lake. Our room was peaceful and very comfortable, with a big bed and soft sheets. The whole property has so much character and feels thoughtfully put together. We ate really well during our stay. Breakfast had homemade breads, croissants, jams, fresh fruit, and both Western and Sri Lankan choices. The other food was excellent too, including the desserts, and the menu was available until 10 PM. Aathma brings together art, nature, comfort, and hospitality in a way that feels special. We’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone looking for something unique in Colombo.

We started our Sri Lanka trip at Aathma Colombo House for one night, and it ended up being the best property we stayed at on the whole trip. It’s such a colorful place, tastefully done, and every part of the room and property feels carefully thought through. Our room had everything we needed. I met the owner, who was very friendly, and the staff were helpful too. We chose it over a reputable 5 star and didn’t regret that at all. Highly recommend it. Try their Sri Lankan rice and curry meal for a local feast.

The lake and pools give the place a romantic feel, and the surroundings and atmosphere were even more beautiful than I expected. Every detail seemed thoughtfully designed, and the attention to aesthetics really made the stay special. Service was warm and attentive, with the staff always going above and beyond. The hotel was also impeccably clean, which made it all the more comfortable and relaxing. Everything felt perfect, and I’d come back without hesitation.

We only stayed one day at Aathma Colombo House, but it was a lovely visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even arranged a tour on short notice so we could explore the city. There’s lush greenery, a beautiful pool area, and tasteful decor. It feels calm, like a little oasis in the city. The food was delicious, and everything was well arranged.
