Sun Bay Lanka

The owner was pleasant and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He also runs the restaurant along the way to the beach. The property isn't right on the beach as some photos might make it seem, but it's just a two-minute stroll across the road through Talalla. I'd try the Sri Lankan breakfast at least once. We liked it, though it was a bit spicier than what we're used to back home.

Just to help other travellers avoid the same misunderstanding we had, this guest house isn't beachfront. It's across the road and behind another building. The photos seem to be from a while ago, and the foliage has grown enough to block most of the view, which is of the building in front anyway. We drove down from further north because we were nearby and wanted to see the place before booking. We didn't stay, so I can't comment on anything else.

A really cute place with sea views. Service at the restaurant is slow, but the staff are very friendly. Once you've finished eating, you can relax on their loungers on the sand and enjoy the beach.
