The food was a real highlight for me, especially the seafood, rice and curry, and the breakfasts, all with such friendly service. Deshan Homestay & Restaurant is family-run, and the hosts were genuinely helpful with transport advice and local tours. It’s quiet, good value, and Silent Beach is nearby too. Goyambokka Beach is only a peaceful short walk away. My room was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and a private balcony, just right for relaxing after exploring the south coast. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone after a relaxed, authentic place.

That homemade cake they surprised us with was such a lovely touch. We really enjoyed staying here, the rooms were clean and pleasant, and the food was the best we tried in Sri Lanka. Deshan and family made the atmosphere feel incredibly warm and welcoming. Such wonderful hosts!

The room was pretty basic, though the beach is only around a five-minute walk away. We didn't rate the food highly, it was among the weaker meals we had in Sri Lanka.

Deshan sorted out a tuktuk and dinner for us when we arrived, which was a big help. The setting is peaceful and the value is great. Goyambokka is about five minutes away on foot, and Silent Beach takes around fifteen. We really enjoyed the food, especially the Sri Lankan breakfast and traditional curries at dinner.
