Luaya Beach

Luaya made a perfect base for the week. It's right in the middle of town and a minute from the beach, yet really quiet at night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a fridge, kettle and AC, and there are lots of inviting places to sit around the grounds. Nice touches include water refills, so you don't need to buy plastic bottles, mosquito repellent on the tables, and a full minibar. Our original plans had to go when cyclone Ditwah came, so we took shelter on the sunny southern beaches. The south was spared and transport was fine. Tangalle is relaxed and friendly, without mass, loud tourism. It has gorgeous long beaches and plenty of good restaurants. We had a great week. It's a shame we couldn't see more of the country, but we'll come back because we love the welcoming, friendly people.

After ten days in Sri Lanka, this was the best accommodation we'd had. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the staff are amazing. They're always smiling and help with everything. It's incredible what you get for the price.

Just spent one night at this resort and really recommend it. The staff are friendly and so helpful, and the rooms are comfortable and very clean. The AC was great in this heat. Lovely English breakfast with lots of local fruit. 🍉

The garden was amazing, and our room and bathroom were spotless. We stayed at Luaya for two nights with breakfast included. Even the bed covers had just been washed, including the little pillows and the one thrown across the bed. Very impressive. The staff were careful and attentive with all the little things. They offered mosquito repellent and coils each evening, turned on the fan for us while we were out, and kept the bean bags neat for whenever we sat down. The bathroom had the best water pressure and warm water we've had. We've been traveling around Sri Lanka for a month, and this was our best accommodation so far. It's close to the beach and the village's main port, and restaurants and bars are an easy walk away. Great job, congratulations to the owner. And about those comments that the owner is all about the money, it's his business, what else should he be about? Lol.
