The hosts were warm and helpful, and breakfast was nice. It’s a calm spot away from the center, but Coconut Island and some lovely beaches are close by. Great value, I’d recommend it. Head to the beach for sunrise 🫶🌅 For anyone going to the airport, take a bus to Matara from the main road, then a comfortable highway bus to central Colombo, about 2.5 hours. From there, a tuk-tuk to the airport takes around 45 minutes. Allow 5-6 hours altogether.

The owners were incredibly kind and helpful. I left my beauty case behind when we moved to Galle, and one call was all it took for them to get it delivered to my hotel. A huge thank you to them. The location is handy for walking around, with Turtle beach nearby and Parrot Island across from the property. And don’t miss the homemade breakfast, it’s a must-try!

Great spot if you like seeing monkeys. The only things that bothered me were the bus horns and the music from the baker’s van, lol.

We booked at the last minute and waited about 20 minutes for the room to be ready. The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the bed was a bit firm but fine. Just know that AC costs an extra $10. We paid for it, but unfortunately it didn’t cool the room.

The woman running the place was friendly and easy to deal with, and the recently completed facilities were still in nice, clean condition. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, with lots of different food choices. It’s a good budget stay in Mirissa, just across the road from the beautiful beach. It faces Giragala rock, where the sea can look more like a lake during the season.
