Early mornings and evenings were the best times to enjoy the natural setting at Jimutha's place. Beside a lagoon, it's full of wildlife, from beautiful birds to monitor lizards and huge bats, and the night sky is spectacular. Jimutha was an outstanding host throughout our seven-night stay. He arranged a motorbike, shared tips on places to eat, swim, and visit, and made delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts each morning, perhaps the most authentic we'll have here. He's a lovely guy, too. We were able to check in around 11am because the previous guests left early. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a good workspace by the window, comfy sofa, decent bed, excellent shower, and a large shaded balcony over the garden. There's no aircon, but opening the windows and doors for the breeze, along with the ceiling fan, kept things cooler day and night. There's also a downstairs kitchen for making meals if you want. The nearest beach is a 3-5 minute ride away, and Mirissa is 5-8 minutes away. We stayed seven nights and checked out yesterday. I'm copying my Airbnb review because these Google reviews don't do the place justice. Most, perhaps all, of the reviews here were written before Jimutha returned from New Zealand and started managing his property again.
