The host was generous and happy to work around what we needed. Our room looked out over a lovely rice field, and everything was clean and well maintained. We had a homemade dinner outdoors and were comfortable, without any mosquitoes. The host arranged a full-day Yala safari for us with Chanaka driving. He was very skilled and did his best to find leopards, and we did see seven, although from a distance, which is understandable given their nature. This was our best stay of the 10-day trip.

What made this stay so memorable was the family. From welcoming us with tea to making us feel at home throughout, their kindness felt sincere and wonderfully warm. The whole hotel is run by one close-knit family, and we felt like welcome guests rather than just customers. We haven't experienced this kind of personal hospitality at other accommodations. The rooms were spotless, the surroundings beautiful, and the views breathtaking. Dinner was delicious, easily the best curry we had in Sri Lanka. They also organized our safari with Casun as the driver, and our half-day trip was unforgettable. Everything felt done with care and a real wish to make us comfortable. We're grateful they made our visit so special, and we'll remember the place fondly.

The owners were really nice, and the place is convenient for the bus station, with a restaurant nearby. Just don't book the safari through them. The packed lunch wasn't good: a street vendor had cooked it four hours earlier, and it had been left in a plastic bag in the truck's footwell.

I miss this lovely family already and had such a good time with them. They welcomed me as one of their own, arranged my safari, and even gave me a present on Christmas Day 🥹. When I needed to get all the way north to Sigiriya, I was planning to take a taxi, but Adhi, the son, quickly offered to have a friend drive me for less than PickMe would b e.
