The room is basic, but the beds are fine, and both the AC and shower worked well. We asked for a water heater to make tea in the room, and that was no problem. The owner also gave us good tips for places to eat. We chose this affordable hotel because the owner runs a safari business, has several cars, and knows his stuff. He has guided for many years and written a book on leopards. Our safaris were good, and the drivers were committed to making them special, even though we didn't see leopards. On the second trip, the owner took a big detour on the way back after hearing there was a male elephant near the road. The staff are very kind and friendly, and we enjoyed staying here. We wanted a tour starting from the hotel at 4:30 AM with our one-year-old girl. If you're trying to do Yala on a budget to make up for the safari fee, consider this place.

For $14 US, the simple room was just right for the three of us. We had a beautiful set-menu meal at Smokys Kitchen, only about a hundred meters up the road. We also walked to the huge 'tank', or lake, and took an interesting motorboat ride to see lots of different birds. Fantastic.

The manager was helpful, and they arrange safaris with experienced drivers. It's a decent place near the bus stand, lake, and Buddhist Temple. It would have been perfect with a better bathroom and an in-house restaurant, which doesn't exist. That's why it loses that last star.

The sheets were quite damp, and both the bedroom and bathroom smelled of mold. There was no window to open, and the AC barely cooled the room. Small lizards wouldn't have bothered us, but there were also several cockroaches, worms, and a mouse. Would not recommend.

The rooms were clean and the prices good. It's in a great location, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They arrange safari tours, and they seem cheaper than the other options.
