Jkab Beach Resort

The rooms are very outdated, and the food was just okay. The panini we got had mayonnaise that tasted like soap. Service was horrible too. I asked for a towel three times, and each time they said they’d bring it to my room. It only arrived after I went to the main office. They ask for payment upfront because they’re afraid people will complain and not pay. I’d call this a three-star hotel acting like a four-star restaurant. The staff need to change, as they seem either underpaid or not paid enough to care.

We didn’t stay overnight, but stopped by to use the pool and restaurant a couple of times. For 1300lkr, we could get pool towels and relax by the pool. It looked a little quiet, but was clean and tidy. We especially enjoyed the sizzler chicken.

The food didn’t taste nice, and the rooms were dirty. Staff weren’t accommodating, so the stay wasn’t pleasant. The price was very expensive.

The best part was the location. JKAB Beach Resort is right beside a beautiful, clean beach with calm water that’s good for swimming, and the restaurant is nicely placed for a meal in the sea breeze. The building itself is nice too, but the facilities and cleanliness don’t live up to the exterior. I wouldn’t recommend it to people expecting comfort and good service, though the beach access is a definite plus. Our room was disappointing: dust on the doors, drink marks on the tea cups, a dirty decorative blanket, and a tiny bathroom with a poorly cleaned shower. The AC didn’t cool properly, and the fan barely worked. For a double room, we got just one bath towel and one face towel. When we asked for another bath towel, they gave us a pool towel and said a bath towel would come the next morning, which was our checkout day. Service was subpar, with staff who didn’t seem trained or attentive. At the breakfast buffet, water was available only by a filter, with a few shared glasses for around 50 guests. Many people had to wash the glasses themselves. The food tasted fairly good, at least. We stayed one night.
