We loved every bit of this peaceful break. The prices for both the stay and food were very reasonable, and the service was excellent, with staff making sure we were comfortable throughout. Greenery all around kept things calm and undisturbed. The well-maintained pool was a favorite spot, and it never felt crowded. A lovely place to relax and reconnect with nature. Highly recommended.

When heavy rain made us cancel our afternoon safari, the manager arranged another one for the next morning without any fuss. He kept checking that we were having a happy stay. Our two nights in a cabin overlooking the river were comfortable, and we enjoyed the pool and the plentiful birdlife, including peacocks. The meals were tasty and generous. I prefer local food to attempts at foreign-style cooking. Highly recommend Birds Paradise Inn for a quiet, secluded break from city or town accommodation.

We came for a meal and a swim, paying 1000rs for the day since our accommodation didn't have a pool. The host was really friendly and attentive. The portions were generous and the prices good: a large plate of tandoori chicken, chips, and vegetables cost 1700. Very satisfied!

The host was extremely nice and worked very hard to maintain the whole resort himself with help from his family. I felt bad for him, which is why I gave this a higher rating than I should have. We paid $19.00 a night for three nights, but barely got through the first one. The bed collapsed under us, and we got no sleep, even though we're not overweight. The windows were impossible to see through, and the beds weren't comfortable. We left in the morning for Ella. Good luck if you choose to stay, and be prepared for flies and roaches.

From the first impression to the end, our stay at the birds paradise inn was superb. I went with my family and the owner welcomed us warmly. It felt like home, and the food was especially delicious. What we spent on the stay felt worth it. Our time in Udawalawa with them was amazing.
