Summerland Residence

The garden was lovely and peaceful, and the whole place was spotless, from the kitchen and living room to the bedroom and bathroom. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, including a fridge, toaster, kettle, and other appliances. We only planned on staying one night at Summer Land, but the facilities and the owner's hospitality were so much better than expected that we stayed for a second. It was incredibly good value. We haven't had service this good anywhere else. Excellent host, great location, and a stay we'd highly recommend to anyone visiting Udawalawa.

We enjoyed our night at Summerland residence. The room was comfortable and worth the price, and the owner was very friendly. He arranged a safari for us at a reasonable rate and provided food and anything else we asked for.

The host was very helpful, and it's an easy walk into the town centre. The place was clean and good. A new swimming pool was being built when I stayed.

The property is well looked after, and the family is friendly, but this was one of the few disappointing parts of our time in Sri Lanka. The amount quoted when we arrived wasn't what we ended up paying. They added things such as a welcome beer, breakfast, and a service charge that didn't seem to apply. It wasn't much use trying to discuss it, since the family's English is limited. It felt like a tourist trap.
