The food and drinks were fresh, tasty, and nicely presented, and the cocktails were especially good on a hot day. Staff were attentive and friendly without hovering. Angel Beach is right by the ocean, with comfortable sunbeds and a stylish, well-kept space. It has a relaxed beach feel, perfect for taking it slow by the water. A lovely spot in Unawatuna to swim and enjoy the coast. I’d definitely return.

We went to Angel Beach Unawatuna with friends in 2021, and the sunset views were stunning, especially for photos. There are lots of attractive places around the property to take pictures during golden hour. It’s right by the beach and a good place to spend an evening. The spot is in a popular part of Unawatuna and easy to reach. Parking was available when we visited, and there’s now an entrance ticket, which seems understandable given the facilities and atmosphere. We spent a relaxing time by the swimming pool. On the weekend we visited, there was pleasant music, and the place felt lively but still relaxed, making it fun to hang out with friends. The food was delicious and high quality. Prices are on the higher side, but felt in keeping with the location, service, and experience. Customer service was friendly and attentive throughout. Angel Beach Unawatuna is a great place to relax with friends, enjoy the food and music, and take in the sunsets. ⭐

The team kept the property spotless and were always nearby with warm, sincere smiles. They treated us like royalty, which made the stay unforgettable. A special mention for the ever-positive Nirosh, Malish, and Sahan, who made things extra special. We stayed at Angel Beach, Unawatuna over the Christmas and New Year break, and the place had an incredible vibe. The pool, cocktails, and beautiful beach views made it feel like a dream vacation. The food was absolutely delicious too. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back!

The Margherita pizza was really good, but the spicy chicken burger was just average. The passion fruit mojitos were average too. We went on a Thursday at around 8 pm, and the outdoor seating was unusually dark. There’s nice outdoor decor and plenty of seating, but I don’t think it lives up to the hype.

We didn’t feel welcome or comfortable. They searched our bags when we arrived and took a beer from us at the door. We’d paid £12 pp for the Sunday BBQ package and were shown to a sunbed, but it felt like a huge dormitory with beds crammed together. The buffet lunch was OK and there was live music, yet something about the vibe didn’t sit right with us. It’s a good beach venue with a lovely breeze, but it was full of Russians.
