Himagira Hotel

We spent two days in the family room. It was a nice, clean, quiet place, and the owner was kind and helpful. It’s very close to town. If you’re going to Bandarawela, try to book a room ahead of time.

The manager was especially helpful and friendly, and apparently speaks both English and Italian well. I’ve been to a few hotels in Bandarawela, and this one seemed the cleanest and most modern. It also felt like good value. I visited several times because a friend had booked a room here. The building is fairly new, finished to a high standard, and has a real five-star feel. It’s about 1 km from town, while still being tucked into quiet countryside with uninterrupted mountain views from the bedrooms and shared areas. The rooms have new equipment, including satellite TV. Some work is still underway, so the rooftop terrace isn’t open yet, but it should be a lovely spot to relax and take in the views once it’s ready.

There’s parking for a few cars in front of this newly built hotel, which seems to be family-run. The owner was friendly and helpful, and the room and bathroom were clean and kept in good shape. There was no refrigerator or way to make tea, so a kettle would be a useful addition.

We booked the whole place for our family on 06/11/2024, and everyone had room to stay comfortably. The surrounding mountain ranges are clearly visible. The rooms and bathrooms were lovely and very clean, and the kitchen was fully equipped. There was also a good space for eating. Staff gave us good service, and the price was very reasonable.
