At 7 PM, nobody was there to check me in, so I had to stay at a different hotel. I wouldn't recommend booking a room at White Heart in Ella unless you're there in person, can find someone who works there, and can see the room ahead of time. The whole city of Ella doesn't have the infrastructure to handle the number of tourists who visit. Do not stay here.

This was one of our most expensive stays in Sri Lanka, and it was absolutely terrible and not worth the price, even for pricey Ella. The description of the amenities was inaccurate: there was no fridge or safe. The room and bathroom were dirty, and the first bathroom smelled very strongly of urine, so we changed rooms. The windows and doors were difficult or impossible to close, and insects got into the room. The neighborhood was noisy. Breakfast was not very good and was served cold, including hopper, roti, and pancakes. The location near the train and city center was the only positive.
