The room and bathroom were both big, and breakfast was simple but good. It’s a laidback place on a small raised road with a nice view over the hills, and walking to the city centre is easy. The railway tracks are nearby, but only a few trains pass in the daytime, so nights are quiet. The owner seemed like a helpful, nice guy, though he wasn’t around the property much. I would have liked him to be there more for breakfast and check-in or checkout. The young man on site couldn’t help with much beyond calling the owner, who would arrive about 15 minutes later.

The rooms are spacious, the staff courteous, and the owner accommodating. Helpful service and a convenient location made for a positive stay, and the transport they provide was a nice addition.

The breakfast terrace on the roof is a great place to take in the mountain scenery, whether you’re eating or having tea in the evening. Breakfast is a mix of Sri Lankan and Western food, but lunch and dinner aren’t served. The host is very friendly. The room was clean and tidy, with a nice view from the window, and included a TV, fridge, hot water, free WiFi, free parking, a fan but no AC, plus vehicle rental and service and laundry. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the centre and has one of the best views of Ella Rock among the two hotels with that view. The WiFi was very bad most of the time, though. Hopefully they can sort it out soon.

The host was incredibly kind. He had his own tuk tuk and drove us into Ella town, then came to collect us for free. The room was huge, with a large bed and great pillows. The bathroom was spacious too, and hot water came through after about five minutes of running it.

A good affordable option for a group of friends, with spacious rooms and bathrooms, decent facilities, and a great view of Ella rock. It’s right beside "the view Ella " hotel and easy to reach on foot or by vehicle, though the road up to those three or four nearby hotels is steep. That’s normal in most of Ella, apart from the high end hotels. I stayed recently (01/08/20) and had a pleasant, safe, fun stay. I’d recommend it.
