Waking up to the ocean each morning was the best part of our stay at Araliya Beach Resort & Spa Unawatuna. The hotel sits right by the beach, and we also enjoyed relaxing by the lovely pool after time at Unawatuna Beach. Our room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, breakfast had plenty of tasty options, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We’d happily come back to Unawatuna.

Our sea view room was beautiful and clean, and that view made the stay feel special. The staff were attentive and welcoming, the food was delicious with lots of choice, and the entertainment kept things lively. We had a great time from beginning to end and would recommend this hotel for an enjoyable, relaxing getaway.

There’s plenty of room to enjoy different moods at Araliya Beach Resort & Spa, with quiet corners as well as lively areas that never felt crowded. The property is large and beautifully kept. Our spacious, clean room was comfortable, and the whole place felt luxurious while still warm and welcoming. Service was friendly and professional, everything seemed well organized, and I felt the experience was worth the money. A good pick in Sri Lanka for space, comfort, and a proper resort feel.

We felt at home here, thanks especially to the attentive, kind staff who were helpful without hovering. The hotel arranged a whale watching tour and transport to Galle Fort, which made getting around easy. It’s a short walk to the beach, where we enjoyed the calm water and golden sunsets. Our clean, spacious room had a tropical feel and an ocean-facing balcony that made mornings lovely. The pool area was clean and relaxing, with palm trees and comfortable sunbeds. Breakfast offered local and international dishes, and we especially liked the fresh fruit and Sri Lankan hoppers. We were greeted with smiles and refreshing drinks when we arrived. A comfortable and convenient stay in Unawatuna for couples or families.

The hotel was easy to reach, and the atmosphere was calm with noise kept under control. The room was large and nice, though a little old and in need of redecoration. The beach was a letdown: narrow, unclean, and very crowded, with few folding chairs available. Breakfast from room service tasted below average, and several items were missing, so we had to call again. Most staff were friendly and helpful, but when we asked for an extra key, reception manager Sachithara was rude. That felt unprofessional for a five-star hotel. At about USD 250 a night, I think the place is worth nearer USD 200. There were some good parts to the stay, but the price and rating need to be better supported.
